4 Arrested in Barton County for Stealing Trucks

BARTON COUNTY, MO -- Four people in Barton County are arrested for stealing multiple vehicles.

Jarred Austin, 30, of El Dorado Springs, Stephanie Grahm, 32, of Kansas City and Kenneth Werner, 32, also of Kansas City are all charged with first degree tampering.

While Jonathan James, 32, of Kansas City is charged with 2 counts of first degree tampering and one count of assault on a law enforcement officer.

The group stole a vehicle in Kansas City on Tuesday, then drove to Sheldon and stole another vehicle on Friday

Deputy Ring from the Barton County Sheriff's Office intercepted the stolen vehicles on the intersection of 71 and DD Highway.

One of the suspects, Jonathan James fled from the scene on foot.

He also had a physical altercation with barton county Deputy Ring.

Ring sustained moderate injuries with a broken hand and was transported to the Barton County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

He has since been released.

All four of the suspects remain in the Barton County Jail.
