Four Arrested in Connection to a Pittsburg Shooting

PITTSBURG, KS --  27-year-old Kyle Taggart is being held in the Crawford County Jail for Attempted First Degree Murder.

Pittsburg police officers say Taggart shot 18-year-old Mitchell Owens in the hip during an altercation over stolen property.

19-year-old John Carver and 24-year-old Stephen Dibble are also in custody in connection to the case.

The victim, Mitchell Owens was also arrested.

The shooting happened at 1122 S. Elm Street at 11:44 Saturday night.

Authorities say an altercation between the four men led to shots being fired.

"It appears all these individuals were known acquaintances and it was a dispute over property which led to the violence taking place," says Major Brent Narges with Pittsburg PD.

Officers are currently looking for an additional suspect connected to the shooting.
