WELCH, OK - Two Grand River Dam Authority Police Officers put their swift water rescue skills to work this week. GRDA officers Scott Cox and Tyler Brown worked to rescue occupants from flooded houses west of Welch early Tuesday morning. Using a specially equipped rescue boat, the officers made several runs in swift waters up to 15 feet deep. They were able to rescue seven adults, five children and even five family dogs. Rescue efforts were aided by Bobby Gilman of the Centralia Volunteer Fire Department.
