Late Tuesday, Kansas Senators narrowly passed a redistricting plan for the state, mapping out new boundaries for state representatives and Senators.
Now the map goes to the state house, where it is expected to face serious opposition.
Before the legislative session began in January, redistricting was expected to be a contentious issue by many legislators.
The Kansas house will begin working on the Senate's proposal in the next few days.
There's no word on when the house will vote on the proposal.
