JOPLIN, MO---Sophomore Principal Matt Harding shaved his hair today.

Harding vowed to shave his head if his students would raise at least $1,000 to help 16-year-old Brice Porter.

Porter had bone cancer and three weeks ago his cancer relapsed into one of his lungs.

His fellow classmates came together to raise $1,300 to help with his medical bills.

"With Brice he has a heart of a lion he has a life threating illness and all he can think about is school being around his friends and stuff like that it's something a teenager shouldn't have to worry about," Harding says.

"He did it for Brice but at the same time he also made it a promise to the kids that if they raised a certain amount they would shave it so he actually did it for everyone," says Brice's mother Jenny Staggs

Brice starts 6 weeks of chemo treatments on May 14th.
