Crack Down on License Plates

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
A Kansas county is cracking down on those who are avoiding license tag fees and taxes. Crawford County Sheriff Sandy Horton is enforcing a new program to punish those who live in Kansas but license and register their cars in neighboring states. Doing this is in direct violation of the law and can result in a fine anywhere from $300 up to $2,500. Sheriff Horton stresses that the money collected from the vehicle registration goes to the state of Kansas for improvements. To report any license tag violations you are urged to call anonymously at 620-724-8274.
