JOPLIN, MO - Joplin High School seniors returned their laptops today and receive a special gift in return. Each student was given a personalized brick from the old high school that was destroyed in the May 22nd storm.

The bricks are hand painted with the student's name, a laptop, and the JHS emblem. Administrators say this gift is a priceless way to encourage students as they move forward in life."I didn't really know were getting bricks until today," said Michelle Turner, JHS senior. "It was cool because I get to take with me a part of my school and a part of my hometown to college with me," she added.

Each brick also comes with a card that explains which part of the building it came from and a brief history about the brick.
