Construction workers find more than they bargain for when remodeling an area high school gym. In April, Joplin voters passed a bond issue that called for the revamping of the high school gym. But when workers pulled out the old set of bleachers on one side of the building, they found tiles containing asbestos. School officials say all 6,300 square feet of tiling is being removed and the project remains on schedule. Rhea says the removal process should be complete by tomorrow. The new bleachers haven`t arrived yet so the clean-up won`t cause a project delay. Asbestos is known to cause cancer and was a very common building material until a few decades ago.
