WEBB CITY, MO -- A local school district receives high honors in a national ranking magazine.
U.S. News and World Report gave Webb City schools a silver medal.
The prize recognizes the district as one of the best ranked in the country.
Webb City joins 1,500 other districts to receive a silver standard.
500 other schools in the country received a higher honor, winning a gold medal.
Webb City schools also ranked 16th in Missouri.
"I think that's a good statement of the continued efforts of our staff and kids to get better every year. And, yeah, we're honored to be on that list," says R-7 Superintendent Anthony Rosetti.
The magazine looked at 22,000 public schools in the United States. Only 4,900 received a ranking of gold, silver or bronze.
