LANAGAN, MO---Chief Larry Marsh has been charged with five counts of forgery. Authorities say Marsh wrote citations using a non-existent Missouri statute and altered a racial profiling report. Officer Michael Gallahue faces just two charges of forgery for the same offense.
McDonald County officials say the officers were claiming Highway 59 to be a Lanagan city road. This allowed the city to claim extra money for traffic violations made on that highway ,which inflated the Lanagan city account.  A court date for the two men has not yet been scheduled.
Lanagan city council members have suspended Marsh and Gallahue without pay until the issue is settled in court. Since they are the only police officers in Lanagan, the McDonald County Sheriff's Office will take over their responsibilities.
