GOODMAN, MO---26-year-old Caleb Sadler has been charged with first degree murder. He was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Del Rio, Texas. Sadler has waived his right of extradition and will soon be back in Missouri. He is accused of murdering 31-year-old Michael Smith at a home on B Highway in Goodman.
Smith, who had been shot once in the head, was found in a ravine North of Neosho. His remains had been burned and hidden inside of a container. Deputies say the motive for the murder is still unclear at this time. Smith's body was found after a tip was given to the McDonald County Sheriff's Office. Investigators estimate he had been dead since last Thursday.
