JOPLIN, MO-- With election day still a couple of months away, a candidate for Missouri's Senate seat talks politics. Former Missouri State Treasurer Sarah Steelman says her priorities include creating jobs and limiting government.
She is on the ballot as a potential Republican contender against incumbent Senator Claire McCaskill. She says she deserves to be chosen on the G.O.P. ticket because she's a hard worker who will get the job done.
Added Steelman, "Balancing the budget, cutting spending, making government smaller, moratorium on rules and regulations, tax reform and repealing Obamacare, again, I think that will create an environment where private enterprise can create jobs."
Steelman is one of four Missouri Republicans declared for the Senate race, including Todd Akin, John Brunner and Mark Memoly.
