Mayor Receives Annie Baxter Award

A Southwest Missouri mayor receives a top award from a Four State college. The mayor of Ozark, Donna McQuay received the Annie Baxter Award at Missouri Southern State College. The award was developed in 1990 by the Social Science Department at Missouri Southern. It`s designed to honor women in public service. McQuay who began her career in public service in 1986 is thrilled to receive the award. The award is named after Annie Baxter. In 1890, Baxter became the first woman elected to a countywide public office in Missouri. She was elected Jasper County Clerk.
