JOPLIN, MO - The company announced it received approval from the Missouri Public Service Commission to lower it's fuel adjustment charge. It's a monthly fee that reflects the actual cost Empire paid for fuel and purchase power during a six month period. Customers that use 1,000 kilowatt hours per month should save around $6 on their monthly statements.
"That is the beauty of the fuel adjustment," said Amy Bass, Director Of Corporate Communications. "It allows our customers to more immediately see the fluctuation in fuel prices."
The change will take effect Friday, June 1st, and will be reflected on most customer's mid-June billing statements.
