"One thing that people might discover is that the vegetables and fruits may taste better in the summer, local fresh produce just seems to have more flavor than the winter produce typically does," states Heather Boline, Freeman Diabetes Educator.
Professionals also say juice based fruits like watermelon and colder meals like salad are healthy ways to cool down during the summer.
