JOPLIN, MO.--- Who knew you could make a musical instrument out of a water bottle? These kids are enrolled in the Music and Mayhem Camp at Spiva Arts in Joplin. The goal is to expand their mind and show that art and music go hand in hand. The kids can take anything from the trash and turn it into an instrument.

"It's pretty annoying but I need practice," says Ryken Garren, 7 years old.

"I really like this one. You can put as many straws in here as you want. Can play this instrument and don't need any talent. Just blow and you'll annoy everyone around you," states Karalee McDonald, Teacher.

Then there's the oboe made out of craft paper and straw and the kids say it would be cool to be a rock star someday.

"I would earn a bunch of money, buy a mansion. I would famous." says Garren.

8 year old Shea Barba says this is the best day of her life.

"I'm making stuff out of art. I'm recycling and I get to be on TV," says Barba.
