GRANBY, MO.-- The Newton County Sheriff's arrested Elizabeth Farnam, 33, of Granby this afternoon. Farnam is charged with 2nd degree murder in the death of her 22 month old son, Logan Crow. Deputies say on June 25th they were called to 101 Geanett street in Granby, where they found the infant dead in his crib. The autopsy showed the cause of death was consistent with an overdose of aspiration. Blood work showed the child died after ingesting a fatal amount of methadone. Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland says the baby died sometime after the parents put the infant to bed.

"They didn't get up the next morning until around 10 a.m. and that's when they went to check on the child, some 17 hours later, and discovered the child was dead at that time," says Copeland.

Farnam is currently being held in the Newton County jail on a $250,000 bond. Her first court appearance in front of the judge will be Monday.
