Trucking Industry Taking Precautions

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The recent terrorist attacks have everyone on alert. Some worry that the trucking industry could be at risk for an attack. Local trucking companies want to make sure that doesn`t happen. Security is being stepped up. The companies and the FBI are giving back ground checks to all drivers, followed by extra safety training just in case something should happen. Their cargo is being examined more closely as well, before they leave, and again at inspection stations. Officials say the FBI is mostly checking the citizenship status of truck drivers and cross-referencing their `most wanted` list.
