Updated: January 7, 2009
The threat of terrorism by mail has temporarily put an end to a Red Cross tradition. The Southwest Missouri chapter of that agency is halting the Any Service Member Mail Program. That program allows the public, especially school children, to send letters to service members overseas. While the letters can be great for morale, Louis McReynolds says: Louis McReynolds, Emergency Services Director - American Red Cross "We`ll find other ways to support and boost their morale, but that program with the current situation we just had to put a stop to it temporarily and figure out where we can go from here." The Red Cross is currently discussing options to boost the military`s moral in other ways.
