By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Residents of Joplin now have a chance to get rid of unwanted tires. The City of Joplin Recycling Department is hosting a free tire collection. The collection is this Saturday October 20th from 9:00am to 2:00pm. The goal is to take in 1,000 used tires. The tires will be turned into fuel at a Missouri Electric Power Plant. Residents may bring up to ten tires per household. The collection is for residents only. If a commercial tire business needs help contracting a tire disposal company, they should contact Mary Anne Phillips at the Joplin Recycling Center at 417-624-0820 extension 501.
