JOPLIN, MO.--- The Head Start program received a new playground from the PNC Company in Kansas City. 200 volunteers managed to complete the playground in just 6 hours. The company had volunteers come to Joplin after the May 22nd tornado to help with cleanup. They wanted to give back again since Head Start has seen so many new kids after the storm. Organizers say the generosity is incredible and it teaches the kids a valuable lesson about kindness.
"It all came together in 1 day. 6 hours, this whole playground was built with 320 volunteer and 100 children. It was an amazing site," states Ann Adams, Head Start.
The playground equipment was supplied by the Kaboom Company based out of Washington D.C. They also supplied the playground for the Beacon school in Joplin. That's the playground Kansas City Chiefs helped install last week.
