JOPLIN, MO.--- Steve and Cindy Head have been married for 25 years, but this is their first art exhibit together. Their work is on display at the Post Memorial Library in Joplin. You can tell the differences. Cindy tends to lay on the color, Steve....likes toilets.

"Art keeps me sane because I'm a nurse and work hard, it gives me an outlet of expressing myself," states Cindy Head, Artist.

Now, back to the toilet painting. Steve said the idea just hit him.

"One day I was inspired by on of the rooms in our house and I said, 'I'll do a toilet'," states Steve Head, Artist.

He said the painting is telling people to let go of technology.

"I know a lot of people are addicted to their smart phones. It can be traumatic. So, I called this 'Cold Turkey'," says Steve.

When you're married, a disagreement is always bound to happen.

"He does accept constructive criticism better than me," says Cindy.

Cindy's been painting all of her life, and it was within the last year Steve started joining her, but that doesn't stop him from offering some advice to the pro.

"Yeah, I'm a micromanager. I'll stand over her shoulder, 'If you just outline this in black'. She'll get so frustrated sometimes," states Steve.

"Defiantly stares over my shoulder, what I should be doing.I told him if Vincent Van Gogh had been married to him, he would of cut off both ears by now," says Cindy.
