JOPLIN -- The Joplin Parks and Recreation Association teamed up with Missouri State University's Habitat for Humanity chapter to plant trees at two local parks. The project was designed to replace trees destroyed in the May 22, 2011 tornado. Volunteers worked at Campbell Parkway an one of Joplin's newest parks, Cedar Ridge. Organizers say an event like this is a great way to help restore the city. A total of 60 trees were planted Saturday.
