JOPLIN -- The 23rd annual Winefeast was held at the Joplin Holiday Inn Sunday afternoon. For a $35 donation, participants could sample more than 100 different wines and appetizers from local restauraunts. The proceeds go to support public television stations in Joplin and Springfield. Organizers say if federal funding is cut for public broadcasting, these fundraisers will be the only hope to keep public TV on the air. Currently, federal money accounts for approximately 15% of the station's operating budget.
