NOEL, MO.--- City Clerk, Danae Murphy says she found Mayor Jamess Carroll inside Noel City Hall this morning with the office doors locked. He had posted a note saying, only Noel city employees and administrators allowed inside. Aldermen and Murphy attempted to convince Carroll to open the door, but he refused.

Mcdonald County Deputies advised the city clerk to take the day off and allow the mayor to come out on his own free will, which he did hours later. Carroll had suspended Murphy for not taking proper records of a meeting on September 28th. However, aldermen voted this past Friday to reinstate her because they felt the suspension to be invalid.

"It is almost impossible to do my job because I can't go to work and whenever I try to go to work, I'm locked out of  the office. It is just the strangest thing," states Denae Murphy, Noel City Clerk.

The regularly scheduled meeting for Noel tomorrow was canceled by the mayor today, however, aldermen say they can make a quorum without the mayor and will meet tomorrow night at 7.
