Pittsburg Man Shot in the Face

PITTSBURG, KS.--- Pittsburg Police responded to the area of Olive and U.S. 69 Bypass in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and found a 19 year old male who had sustained a gunshot wound to the face. The victim was treated at the scene by Crawford County EMS and then transported to Freeman Hospital in Joplin by life flight. A suspect in the shooting has not been identified and investigators are continuing to follow up on leads. Officers did search 2 houses in the 1900 block of JFK Street for a possible suspect but did not locate anyone. 

The victim was last reported to be in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone having information relating to this crime of other crimes may report it to the Pittsburg Police Department at 620-231-1700. Callers reporting criminal activity may remain anonymous.
