PITTSBURG, KS.---  Tonight the Pittsburg Economic Development Committee recommended the city give the Colonial Fox Theater Foundation $45,000 from the community development block grant. City commissioners approved the grant, which is federal money administered by the city. The organization can use the funding as a match for other grants. The foundation also closed bids today for phase 5 of restoring the theater. That means residents will soon see updates outside the building, including face improvements. The theater is expected to reopen to the public next year.
