JOPLIN, MO.--- Construction crews are currently finishing underground work including electric wiring and water lines. Steel framing for the first floor is almost complete... The second and third will be up in the next few days. On another level, the hospital's foundation is expected to be laid down in a week. Hospital officials are also working offsite choosing brick and ordering storm resistant glass for the windows.
"It's pretty exciting to see the steel come up. We've been working underground down for several months, so once you see the steel go up, it really makes an impact where you can tell how it's coming along," states John Farnen, Strategic Projects Director.
The hospital's construction is on schedule and is set to open in the spring of 2015.
