Commissioners Decide Against Appeal

A Four State county commission decides not to appeal a court ruling involving a remodeling scandal. Newton County commissioners say they will not appeal the dismissal of criminal charges against a Neosho contractor. Roger Hulsey was indicted by a grand jury in 1999 for alleged over billing while remodeling the Newton County Courthouse. Commissioners say they will not meet with a special prosecutor to discuss the possibility of an appeal. Commissioners say the county has already spent considerable time and money on the case.
