JOPLIN, MO.--- Oxford Health Care has launched a program that will provide 8 hours of free training to volunteers. They're looking for people to assist Hospice care givers with in home patient responsibilities. Volunteer duties might include anything from helping with errands to just spending time with a person in Hospice care. Program coordinators say just a few hours of time each week is enough to change someone's life.
"When you just need just a friend, and that's what these individuals basically become, is they become a family friend. They may start out as strangers but the amount of impact that these individuals have on these peoples lives is just incredible," states Christopher Marinez, Oxford Health Care.
