In Pitt State's loss to Lindenwood Saturday, all five touchdowns surrendered were 29 yards or longer, with three of them 80 yards or longer. These "money plays" doomed the Gorillas, and their loss marked just the second season since 1983 that they fall twice at Carnie Smith Stadium in the regular season.

As for Missouri Southern, a 73 yard run by Ne'Ronte Threatt in the second quarter sparked the Lions to a win, securing their first winning season since 2007 and just their second in the past 17 years. Trailing 10-0 before Threatt's touchdown, the Lions found their mojo, and would get in the end zone on the four possessions that followed. Plus, defensively, MoSo did not allow another point.
