JOPLIN, MO.--- These kids sure do sound a lot older than they are, they're 5th graders at Royal Heights in Joplin and have been studying the election for several weeks. Some are for President Obama.
"He was a really good choice. He helped a lot of people," states Alex Benedict, Obama Supporter, 5th Grade.
Others are for Governor Romney.
"GO ROMNEY," states Kelsey Harper.
Kelsey Harper is in the Romney camp.
"He works hard for stuff and the Republicans are usually fun," states Harper.
Britysh Alexander thinks President Obama needs 4 more years.
"I don't think Romney would be a good president because if he wins he would stop food stamps. What about people that don't have a job," states Britysh Alexander, Obama Supporter.
The kids were disappointed to find out they have to wait until they're 18 to vote, because they already have many opinions about the candidates. Benedict says he's for Obama, but his parents aren't sure.
"My parents haven't decided who they want to win the election, but I'm pretty sure that it has to do with taxes," states Benedict.
He sure doesn't like Romney.
"He's just a little off I think," states Benedict.
Many of the kids say they would like to be president some day.
"I would help people get jobs and keep my promises, try to keep my promises," states Kaleb Dodson, Romney Supporter.
The kids are disappointed in the adults who don't vote.
"Really lazy sometime because they really don't care about presidents and how the presidents help all the people," states Dodson.
"I think they are lazy and don't feel like voting," states Alexander.
The future presidents already have some new laws they'd like to see take effect.
"You get paid to go to school," states Benedict.
"That you could only go to school twice a week," states Harper.
"You get paid every week even if you don't work, and kids always get ice cream for free," states Alexander.
