Webb City, Monett, Lamar and Miller football win district championships

The defending Class 4 State Champion Webb City Cardinals showed why their poised to make another run at the title with a 55-10 win over Hillcrest at home. They'll host Sullivan this Saturday in the state quarterfinals.

Meanwhile in Cassville, the undefeated and top district seed Wildcats were upset at home by Monett. The Cubs scored the game's only touchdown to start the 3rd quarter and held off Cassville to seal a 10-6 victory. They're set to host Elden in the next round.

In Class 2, the defending state champion Lamar Tigers faced a rematch from the regular season against Butler, and defeated the Bears for a 2nd time 62-0. The Tigers take to the road to face Liberty-Mountain View on Saturday for the 2nd year in a row in the quarterfinals.

And rounding out Friday night's Southwest Missouri action in Class 1 were the Miller Cardinals who defeated Lockwood 39-6. They face perennial power Valle Catholic on the road on Saturday.
