JOPLIN, MO--- Mrs. Pam Black, a preschool teacher at St. Mary's Elementary School, was recognized as the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Diocese Teacher of the Year at the district teacher's meeting. Mrs. Black was recognized for her efforts in rebuilding the St. Mary's Library after the Joplin May 22nd tornado, while at the same time rebuilding her own home that was destroyed in the storm. She was honored for her dedication and support of the Catholic Church and schools. Mrs. Black is in her 5th year of teaching at St. Mary's Elementary.
