VERNON COUNTY, MO.--- Jason Mosher is currently serving as the Jasper Chief of Police. He beat incumbent Ron Peckman by more than 1700 votes last night. Mosher says once in office, he plans to create a structured chain of command and increase officer's training. He also plans to have a  deputy on duty 24 hours a day so there's continuous coverage in Vernon County.

"They say sometimes at night the calls drop off, you may not get as many calls. We're supposed to be out there ready to respond because you don't know when the criminals are going to hit," states Jason Mosher, Vernon County Sheriff Elect.

Peckman has been Vernon County Sheriff since 2000.
