Branson Titanic Museum Attraction Owner Speaks with Joplin Leaders

JOPLIN, MO.--- More than 100 Joplin area business leaders gathered at Downstream Casino today, but they weren't there to play games.
"We do leadership symposiums a couple of times per year and it really is an opportunity to find really good quality business leaders from outside of this area to come and share their experiences," states Rob O'Brian, President JACC.
This year, Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce leaders chose John Joslyn, CEO and President of the Branson Titanic Museum attraction to be the featured speaker for this year's leadership symposium.
"I think leadership is all about guidance and learning other peoples experience. Figuring out how to adapt that and see if it fits you at all or helps you at all. And I think we all need a little bit of enthusiasm in our lives today," states John Joslyn, CEO, Titanic Museum Attraction.
Joslyn spoke about leading the first mission to recover artifacts from the Titanic, and the steps he's taken since then to develop his career. A message that was well received by the diverse crowd at today's event.
"People who are really terrific business leaders and recognized as such in our community come to this because they want to know what somebody else has done and get a little different insight," states Joslyn.
"Learning what different leaders have, where they have come from, how they have gotten to where they are, and trying to take away tidbits from them of how to possibly improve myself," states Don Greenlee Big Sisters, Director.
In addition to the speech, participants also enjoyed brunch and a salute to Leadership Joplin graduates. This is the Joplin Area Chamber's 19th leadership symposium, they typically hold 2 per year.
