JOPLIN, MO.--- This year is the 3rd year the Carl Junction High School's building trades class has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build homes for area families. Students completed work on 2 houses so far this year and are working on one more, which they hope to have finished by early Spring. This is the first year students have built homes outside of Carl Junction.

"Not every kid is bound for a four year post secondary education and this gives them employment skills so they can immediately go to work after school and then there's the community service on top of that," states Chris Huhn, Course Instructor.

The course is currently full with 36 students enrolled. Instructors hope to increase increase that number in the upcoming school year.
