JOPLIN -- In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts of America, leaders of the Joplin troupe swore in twelve new members Saturday. The recruits made new friends, learned the Girl Scout pledge and how to make bracelets. They also discussed the importance of Veteran's Day. Girl Scout leaders are calling 2012 the "Year of the Girl," since the organization was created in 2012.
