Oklahoma Prison Escapee is Found in Joplin

JOPLIN, MO.--- Alvin Boyer, 27, was taken into custody around 2:45 this afternoon after police found him in a Joplin home. Boyer escaped from an Oklahoma state prison in McAlester on October 26th. According to Newton County Sheriff, Ken Copeland, Boyer was hiding in the attic of a home in the 5,000 block of McClelland in Joplin. Boyer came out after deputies threatened to tear gas the house. Three other men wanted on outstanding warrants from Joplin were also arrested. The owner of the house has not been charged at this time.
