CARTHAGE, MO.--- Richard Webster asked for more than $66,000 to be appropriated from the County's General Revenue Reserve. The money would cover adjustments from a previous pay raise. It would also be used to make utilities payments at the Carthage Courthouse and the Jasper County Jail. Webster argues if the move isn't approved he won't be able to pay the county's bills.

"Things are tough right now and it's hard to find money in other places but I didn't take it away from anybody else. I took it away from general stuff where I figured I've got too much budget in there and I figured well I'm only going to need this much to get through the end of the year. I'll use some of that money," states Richard Webster, Jasper County Auditor.

Commissioners decided to put the budget amendments up for public comment. They'll take the decision up again in 3 weeks. In a third piece of business, county commissioners also approved a bid to purchase 32 tasers for the sheriff's office. The winning bid was for $28,000.
