JOPLIN, MO.--- University leaders held a rededication ceremony for the MSSU Campus Veteran's Memorial. The nearly 3 decade old memorial stone received a new plaque honoring students and faculty who have served our country. It sets between Hearnes and Websters halls. The rededication ceremony was held today to coincide with the 75th day of classes during the university's 7th anniversary.

"It's very important to have it on campus for everyone to see because it reminds those that are veterans that work here as faculty and new students all the sacrifices that are made for the United States of America," states Captain Amanda Self, MSSU Military Science Professor.

The ceremony also included a performance from the MSSU brass band with remarks from President Bruce Speck, and a traditional flag raising.
