KANSAS--- A half marathon is in the works for Thanksgiving weekend. Runners can stretch their legs through the 13 mile route that traces the length of the Mother Road in Southeast Kansas. Organizers say that while this run is lower profile than the mother road marathon last month, they couldn't pass up the opportunity to match up a race to their section of 66.

"You start in Missouri, state line. You run through the state of Kansas, and you finish at the Oklahoma state line. It's a half marathon," states Scott Nelson, Route 66 Association of Kansas.

The race starts at 9:00 a.m. On Saturday, November 24th. For more information, you can contact organizers at 620-848-3330.
