JOPLIN, MO.--- 3 Missouri Southern professors opened up their classroom for the day, to share theories about when some believe the world will end. December 21st is the end of the Mayan calendar, and to some, It will also be the end of life as we know it. Their presentation combined astrology and mathematics. It takes a closer look into the beliefs of the Mayan civilization, and debunks myths surrounding this Doomsday prediction.

"There's a lot of  hype about the end of the world and the end of times so we decided that we would offer this course, it's a pretty popular course, over 30 people in it because it's upper most on many people's minds," states Sam Claussen, Mssu Adjunct Professor.

Proffesors add that the world will likely not end on December 21st.
