COMMERCE, OK.--- The 24 acre NEO Veterans Memorial Cemetery is located on the corner of East 60th Road and Maxun Drive in Commerce. Commerce resident Paul Fahnestock who passed away in 2004 donated the land to the city's chapter of the Disabled American Veterans. The cemetery is now open for burials and has room for more than 15,000 fallen heros. Burial land is available for all veterans and their spouses at no cost.

"I didn't thin kI'd be alive to see it completed. To tell you truthfully, having to go back and forth with courts and the laws," states Walt Naris, Commerce DAV Commander.

The closest veterans cemeteries are in Springfield, Fort Scott, and Fort Gibson. If you would like information on reserving a plot, contact the Commerce DAV at 918-675-5355.
