LAMAR, MO.--- Members of the Community Plaza Rescue Committee were able to raise enough funds to purchase a digital projector. The Plaza Theater was in jeopardy of closing because managers had to switch from 33 millimeter film to digital. The new projector is expected to be installed at the end of January. The Plaza Theater manager says so far they've raised $75,000, the projector cost more than $48,000. The remaining funds will now go to help restore the Barco Drive In, managers say they still need about $75,000 to complete that project.
