MIAMI, OK.--- For the past month, Delcie Rhoades' has been spending more time behind the register.

"The sales have gone up," states Delcie Rhoades, Rhoade's Gun Shop Owner.

She owns Rhoade's Gun Shop in Commerce, and says sales have spiked by 20% in the last 3 weeks.
"I really believe it's up because Obama got reelected," states Rhoades.

National statistics show gun sales were up across the country in the wake of President Barack Obama's reelection. FBI figures show an 18% increase in background checks compared to the same time last year.

"Since he's been relected they've just been buying a lot of guns they think they will no longer be able to have," states Rhoades.

She says many customers fear the Democrats will reintroduce a ban on assault weapons. That would include military type guns such as AR-15 and AK-47 rifles.

"The biggie is the ak 47 we've had probably 10 people wanting that just recently, in the last three weeks or so," states Rhoades.

Rhode's Gun Shop doesn't even carry that type of fire arm, prompting a special order, while they still can.
