JOPLIN, MO.---- "A lot of people have come in today and said, 'We're so glad you're back. Thank you for rebuilding,"

Taco Bell employees and customers say it's nice to have to the building back, especially when looking at all the destruction around it.

"I was kinda sad when it got torn down, so I was pretty glad to see it was back up today," states Trent Dickerson, Guest.

"We've been watching for several weeks," states Joyce Snider, Guest.

Since crews started building the restaurant 4 months ago, people have patiently waited for the project to finish.

"We obviously wanted to open a lot sooner than this, but there was just a lot of details to hash out," states Geoff Graves, Taco Bell Director of Operations.

Details like moving the restaurant a few feet back from Main Street and completing insurance paperwork. Figuring out those details has paid off in the end.

"We actually doubled the size of the lobby in here. Before this lobby only had seated about 32 people. now it seats 68," states Graves.

Restaurant operators say rebuilding was never out of the question.

"I think that's so important to the people here to try to put the tragedy behind them and get back to what it used to be," states Graves.

Customers couldn't be happier.

"Well it's very nice and the food is delicious," states Dickerson.

Today was the initial opening of the fast food chain, but the grand opening is still in the works. Franchise managers met at the restaurant today to discuss when that opening will actually take place. They say we can all expect the official grand opening within the next few weeks.
