PITTSBURG -- After decades of planning, administrators at Pittsburg State University have awarded a building contract for a new arts center to Crossland Construction of Columbus. The new facility will cost the college more than $33 million, with around $10 million from alumni and anonymous donors. Earlier this year, students voted to commit $7 million in student fees over the next 20 years to the project. PSU has been without a large, on-campus venue since Carney Hall was closed in 1978. A date for the project to begin construction has not yet been set.
