JOPLIN, MO.--- A proposed city ordinance would actually lower the cost of the license for restaurants and bars. In the past, that had cost $500 or $600, depending on the type of operation. The proposed change would lower that to $450. That would bring the city fee into compliance with state statutes. Councilmembers are expected to vote at tonight's meeting at city hall.
