WEBB CITY, MO.--- Cardinal Scale Detecto sent out 3 semi-trucks this morning to haul a 225,000 pound scale. It will take 2 days and more that 6 escorts to reach Black Mountain, North Carolina. Once there, the scale will be used to weigh mining equipment. The 130 foot long by 16 foot wide scale is nearly double the standard width allowed on the highway. Cardinal Scale managers say this is the largest scale they have exported since the company began making mining scales 2 years ago.
"It's probably the biggest scale on the market. So it's kind of a new product for us, which is good. So it's just kind of now taking off and we're starting to sell some of them," states Matt Stovern, Vice President of Operations.
The company earned about $250,000 for making, exporting, and installing the scale.
